nicaragua-un poco de todo


On September 7th the Nicaraguan people celebrate a holiday called La Gritería. La Gritería is when everyone gathers together, thousand of people sing on the street. Many go to alters of Mary in their houses. They also shoot up fire works they eat treats. This holiday is mostly based on Virgin Mary.





The Gold Cordoba is money in Nicaragua. There are coins for 5 and 1 dollars and there are banknotes for 10, 20, 100 but they are not that useful. People mostly use credit cards and visa card. The currency started in 1912 in honor of a guy named Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba one of the Spanish captains that toke-over Nicaragua.
